Exciting News!!

I've been keeping this teeny tiny secret from you for almost 2 weeks now, and today I get to share it with you.

I was approached by Tammy of Bugaboo Stamps, to guest design for the next 2 months and was immediately excited about it.  HAVE YOU SEEN THEIR ADORABLE STAMPS???  They have tons of really cute digital stamps to choose from, so you'll have a huge selection for any type of project you wish to work on.  And even MORE GOOD NEWS is that they will be sponsoring my 25 Days of Christmas blog event this year.  Which means one lucky winner will receive 3 FREE BUGABOO DIGITAL STAMPS of their choosing. I'll have more details about that in a couple of months.  Let's get back to today's project, shall we?

Gingerbread Girl is a new digital stamp from Bugaboo that is being offered free [today only] on their blog.

I decided to make a tag after coloring her with my copics and used the Amy Tangerine "Sketchbook" paper pad, along with some Recollections stickers and a Cosmo Cricket sentiment.  I used 4 different punches (2 snowflakes, 1 MS pine needles border punch and 1 McGill triangle punch), and I fussy cut out the banners you see at the top.  I added some ribbon, twine & tinsel to through the eyelet and Recollections bling to complete the tag.

I will be giving this tag, along with a bag of cookies that I'll leave in my mailbox, to my mail carrier this year.  Last year I started to leave little goodies in my mailbox for him/her and since then, I have not lost any mail.  hehehe.

I hope you make time to check out their blog for their Friday Freebie and also their Bugaboo Shop.

Stay tuned for more Bugaboo projects.

Yo Gabba Gabba Treat Bags

If you've ever watched Yo Gabba Gabba (because your child, niece or little brother makes you watch it), you'd initially feel very weirded out by the characters and the songs they sing; especially the intro!!

But after a few episodes (or watching the same one over and over), you'll learn to love the show and what the show teaches your child.  It teaches them how to share, how to be polite and even how to eat their veggies.

Giovanni's 1st birthday party theme was Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, which you can find on my blog and on you tube.  This year I decided his 2nd birthday should be his newest favorite show, but I didn't want to do such a huge party; (only immediate family).   HOWEVER, I was very compelled to do AT LEAST ONE CRAFTY THING, and it ended up being the treat bags.  I loved being challenged to make these using only my dies, punches and my own free hand drawing (and I DO NOT DRAW, PEOPLE!!!).  But what I loved most was seeing Gio's face light up when he saw each finished bag and hearing him say excitedly, "YO GABBA!!".  haha.  I am in the process of making other Yo Gabba Gabba party-related projects, and I'll share those with you later on.  But for now I'd like to show you how I made the treat bags.

Below is a video I created to show the process it took to make these characters and the supplies I used.  I hope it helps you make these treat bags for your kid's party and I hope it inspires you to be more crafty.  =)

Feel free to PIN this tutorial to your party board.

See Ya'll Next Time... Bye Bye

P.S.  I will be posting Yo Gabba Gabba favor labels in my etsy shop in a few weeks, so stay tuned for that.

1st Christmas Card of 2012

I've always shy'd away from coloring monochromatic images, but I was tempted to try it this week when I saw a challenge posted by Designed To Color.

It was actually easier than I expected, simply because it takes the guessing out of what colors to combine and what colors work well together and compliment each other.

Since I made this all green, I decided I would go ahead and finish it off into a Christmas card; it's the only way I could justify using so much of that color!  haha.

Thanks for checking in.

Banners, Balloons & Bling, Oh My!!

I was inspired to make today's card for 2 reasons; the Designed To Color Sketch Challenge & Saturated Canary's B's Challenge.

I colored in "Ellie's Birthday" by Saturated Canary, quite a few weeks ago (I'll even say months ago), and didn't know how or what I'd use her for, until today.  The theme they asked for in the challenge was "B's".  Use anything that starts with the letter B, so here's the list I came up with: 1. Banners, 2. Birthday, 3. Balloons, 4. Bling, 5. Black hair and 6. Boots.
(The last 2 might be stretching my luck a bit, lol).

I used copic markers, Cosmo Cricket "Clementine" paper, Recollections bling, a $1 Michael's banner stamp and a Recollections sentiment stamp, red glitter glue, rock candy stickles, Spellbinders dies and a Stampin' Up oval punch to create this birthday card.

Thanks for stopping by.

Challenge Card

It's been a while since I made a card "just because" and entered it into any challenges.  I was inspired to do so after browsing a few blogs.

I had colored in "Love Letters" by Saturated Canary, a couple of weeks ago and had her waiting in my My Mind's Eye - The Sweetest Thing "Honey" 6x6 pad.  I decided I would use her for a card and share it with you.

I used 2 different MFT Dienamics flourish dies, Sizzix circle die, 1 1/2" Stampin Up circle punch & cardstock, Recollections pearls, MS butterfly punch and walnut stain distress ink.

I hope you take some time out this week to make a card and send it to a friend.  I'm sure they'll appreciate it.
=)
