Heartfelt Thanks.

One of the awesome things I've learned in my copic coloring practice is creating backgrounds.  Not only are we able to make these images come to life with shading and techniques, but we can also create scenes.

I had a little help from CC Designs and their "Puddle" stamp for the pond, rocks and grass.  This Tiddlyinks image is one of their newer sets and can be found here for a very good price.  And if you use my personal COUPON, you can save 10% every time you shop!  "DAMARIS10"

I used Dear Lizzy "Serendipity" 6x6 paper, netting trim, Kaisercraft dusty pink mini blooms, MFT flourish die, doily, Mr. Huey's "Buttercup", and Wild Orchid Crafts flowers to complete the card.

I hope you are inspired to make a thank you card for someone who has made you feel special or who is always there for you.  It would make them feel appreciated and cared for.

You can find all the products used in Noelle's shop Quick Creations.  And remember to check the Quick Creations Facebook page and Blog for updates on new products, different project shares and coupon codes.

And don't forget you can save 10% right now with code "DAMARIS10".

Home Sweet Home.

Seriously?, how old is that Pebbles & Simple Stories collection that I've been hoarding?
I decided to dust those off and give them a new home in my "Project Life" Kal Barteski scripted album by Studio Calico.
On this day we took a break from unpacking and organizing to sit in the park across the street from home and watch Gio enjoy the weather.
The inspiration for this color scheme came from the photos (as is customary for me to do), and was super excited about it because it was one I had never worked with before.  Even more exciting was the fact that I used several different companies to create this layout.
Pebbles, Simple Stories, October Afternoon, Freckled Fawn, American Crafts, Bella Blvd and Elle's Studio to name a few.  You can find these and other brands in the Come On Get Crafty shop.  Just click this link to take you straight there.
And don't forget to visit the COGC Facebook Fan page for more inspiration and coupon codes (as they come out).
Be blessed,

Coffee & Copics.

I recently found out that cleaning my copic markers will help substantially in preserving the longevity of their life.  If you color images on a consistent basis (like I do), you'd know how dirty and sticky they become over time.

So I decided to give my babies a bath and treat them to a SPA DAY... hehe.
Incidentally, for this layout, I created 2 pages for 2 different days and yet they both have very similar color combinations.  So I decided to take a unified photo and make it one big layout.
I used some cards by My Mind's Eye, Project Life and Dear Lizzy; and embellished with Pink Paislee, American Crafts, Crate Paper, Kelly Purkey, Bella Blvd, October Afternoon and Pebbles.

A lot of these products can be found on the Come On Get Crafty Shop.
Just click here to find some of your favorites.

P.S.  Mint Green Peeps?  Thank you Target!

Be blessed,

There are a few challenges out there that I have been participating in and it has been the best help in getting to use up my supplies.

This morning I was able to create this multi-challenge card using 3 of my favorite things... a Saturated Canary stamp, Amy Tangerine's "Plus One" paper pad, and flowers.  When I think about summer and going to the beach, I think of neon colors and the 80s.  This image helped me create a really cute card.

My initial thought once seeing "Beach Ink" was; "Oh Crap!  That's going to be difficult!", which is why I printed 4 of her at once; hoping I'd get it right by the 3rd try at least.  Oddly enough, I was able to to knock it out in 1 session.  I think it helped that it was 4am and everyone was asleep, so I didn't have a bossy toddler or loud TV to disrupt my concentration.

[up so early due to toothache]

I first started with her outfit.  I usually start with the most difficult for me to color first.  This gives me the freedom to either continue with the rest of the image if I like the clothing, or start from scratch.  When I first saw the image I immediately thought it would be extra sexxxy & fun to color-in a peek-a-boo slit in her bikini top.  I used the E000, E21 and E04 copic markers to help me create shading and curvature.  I added curls to the ends of her hair, and false lashes for a little extra added interest.  I also used the YG, RV, C and B families to color the entire image.

I'm super excited about this particular challenge.  The winners get to help Krista design a new digital stamp.  How awesome would that be!??!?

Party Animal.

We're having a really cute sketch challenge starting today over at the Come On Get Crafty blog.

I created a fun & bright layout with an old photo of Giovanni.  He was 3 years old in this photo and I've had it for more than a year waiting for the right pieces and layout to use it on.  We were at his cousin's first birthday party and he had such a blast.  I enjoyed watching him dance, by himself, in the center of the room.  I love that he doesn't care what people think of him.

He was too afraid to try the face-painting, but he loved blowing bubbles!

As always, I pulled colors from the photo; a lot of the product I used came from the COGC shop, including the new Elle's Studio "Cienna" collection, some October Afternoon pieces, Amy Tangerine & Pink Fresh Studio epoxy stickers, and more.

I had fun creating this layout using the sketch and I hope you make a little time this weekend to craft and join the challenge.

Sprinkled With Fun!

I think it was late last year that I started to notice how cute donuts are.
It wasn't until February that I realized I loved this famous icon, more so since My Favorite Things decided to create a stamp and die set.

I just had to have that set, so I pulled some strings (my craft dealer - lol), and got it for a discount price.  You can purchase it here directly from MFT, but they sometimes sell out quickly.

In any case, I was so inspired by how adorably cute the die and stamps are that I created these 2 cards almost immediately after opening by craft haul.

I can't wait to pull it out again and make some more sweet cards.
This set is one of my favs right now!

Fairy Wishes.

I can't tell you how long I've had this stamp in my collection of "Too Scared To Try To Color It, But It's Too Cute Not To Purchase It, Plus It's On Sale" vault... possibly more than a year.

Today I woke up with an extra pair...
...and decided it would be the day that I tackle my nemesis...
& Fairies.

I started coloring early this morning, after my coffee and delicious eggs.
Then continued after coming back from the park.
It was hot out there so I grabbed a $1 DD iced coffee and those DELICIOUS Croissant Donuts, and returned to my conquer the rest.

I wanted to create a card that looked like there was a photo of a fairy captured in a garden.  The card is square and rectangle, but I shaped the flowers in a such a way that would give the appearance of curvature.

I absolutely am loving coloring again thanks for Kathy's 30 Day Challenge.  You can read more about that here...  The Daily Marker.

I hope you are having a blessed week so far, and I'd love to know in the comments below if you are taking the challenge and how you are liking it so far.

Today's card post is super late... I apologize for having a life today (lol).

I created a birthday theme card using a TGF image, "Stella", which I believe is discontinued now.  Her style is so flawless and classic, I just had to give her a Rockability look.  I used C2, C5, C9, B21, B24, B26 & B37 for her sexy punk hair.

The sentiment also has a classic look, as do the flowers.

I hope you had a wonderful weekend and stay tuned this week for more project shares.

Happy Birthday.

Hi again.  I can't help but post a new blog everyday ever since I started Kathy's 30 Day coloring challenge, which you can read about here.

For Day 3, I pulled out an old La-La Land stamp, called "Sugar and Spice Marci", and created a fun shaker birthday card; and so so love how it turned out.  It's super fun and cute!  You can't tell from the photo, but I added some sparkle to the cupcake frosting and her lips using clear Wink of Stella.  The shaker itself contains sequins in different sizes & colors, and glitter.

I knew I wanted to use the Dear Lizzy's "Serendity" paper pad, so selecting the colors was fairly easy.

A full list of supplies can be found below.

I hope you have a fabulous weekend and make sure to check out Kathy's blog!

You're So Sweet.

Keeping with the challenge spirit, I colored in "Summer Sweet Wryn" with bright & fun copic markers, and set her up on a flowery card.  The charm used is from my stash (when I used to make jewelry), and made it hang from the tulle bow I made.

A full list of supplies is below if you are interested.

Thank you for checking in and I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

1 - Tiddlyinks : "Charming"
2 - The Daily Marker - 30 Day Coloring

Happy Spring.

There's a fun 30 Day Coloring challenge that I came across on Instagram, hosted by a very talented lady named Kathy.  I thought it was the perfect way to give me the swift kick in the pants I needed to get back into a coloring rhythm.  You can join the challenge here.

I have spent the past couple of weeks working on cleaning my copic markers and making a list of the refills and markers I need, and have quite a few left... the experience is taking long.  It's something I didn't know I needed to do.  It's just one of those things that I just thought the markers would stay dirty forever.

In any case, I was going to reward myself with an all day coloring session once I was done, but after seeing this challenge I figured I could use the practice.

So after a nice day of Play Doh fun with my son, I went browsing on Facebook and found that Saturated Canary was hosting a "SPRING" theme challenge.  I immediately pulled out "Willow" and got to coloring.

A lot of the supplies used are new from the Come On Get Crafty Shop, and a lot are older from my stash.

I hope you join the 30 Day Challenge.  I had forgotten how FUN it is to color, just because.
