Purple Sequin Wreath.

Here's another take on the previous sequin wreath card I made and shared in the last post.

I was so in love with the turn out that I decided to try it again in a different color / style.

I realize not everyone has a tiny bow punch, but maybe 90% of crafters have a snowflake punch.  I added a pop dot for dimension, a Recollections bling center for more sparkle and VOILA!  Easy card.

The sentiment is by Elle's Studio, an exclusive stamp that came out last year, I believe, and I was able to find new on facebook for a steal; but you can click the link and find it on their website.

Christmas Stamp - Exclusive

If you want the sentiment stamped closer to the wreath, you can either stamp it first (before building your wreath), or use a rectangle acrylic block instead of a square one (like I did).  In order to avoid hitting the wreath and having your sequin fall off or shift.

I hope that tip helps.  Thanks for checking in.

Sequin Wreath Card.

Hi Dolls.

I'm still here.  I've just been busy doing another craftroom declutter and reorganizing.  One is never REALLY finished with it huh?  There's always a better way to store this and that.  And there's always something you thought you'd use, but didn't get around to it.

I have spent the past couple of weeks working on Christmas-related projects.

As you know, every year (for the past 2 years),
I have hosted a fun Christmas Daily Event here on my blog,
and this year is no different except for the fact that it'll only be
12 days instead of 25 and 30 like past years.
I just think it'll be easier for me to produce,
and easier for you to keep track.
Especially during a very busy season.
So stay tuned for the official announcement & list of sponsors.
I can't wait to share that info with you soon...

For now, I want to leave you with a super quick and easy card I made the other day.

With some glossy accents, I made a circle (free hand) of glue and just started to layer the sequins.  The outer layer has 21, middle 20 and inner 19; just incase you want the recipe.  I punched a bow tie from a Martha S punch and added a lil droplet of liquid pearls in the center.  Finished off the card with a sentiment from an old Fiskars stamp set.

Thanks for checking in and I hope to work on more CAS projects to share with you.  For some reason, that's what I've been leaning more towards lately.

Thank You.

I don't always make "thank you" cards, but they are necessary to have in stock.  This one I made specifically for Thanksgiving, using autumn colors and I love how it turned out.

In the past I have attempted to color this Saturated Canary image "Princess Rose Red" and have failed miserably... I'm glad to have improved and be able to share it with you.

I used a "Country Garden" 6x6 paper pad by BoBunny, Recollections embellishments (they are new and they are FACETED!), mesh, spellbinders dies, vintage photo distress ink and Wild Orchid Crafts flowers.

So... if you have been following my twitter, facebook or instagram feed, you'd know that hubby and I have been neck-deep into the old, but popular show "LOST".

It happened one day after we re-watched all the seasons of "How I Met Your Mother" (yes it's THAT good), and were left with wanting to start a new series on Netflix.

As we browsed the shows, I saw a few that looked familiar, but were interested in something that had ended, so we can see it at our own pace and get immediate closure.  Unlike, now that we are in the middle of watching the last season of "HIMYM", and it kinda sucks that we can't watch it when we want.

"LOST" caught my eye.  We attempted to watch this show years ago on Netflix (when it was still airing on TV), but didn't get into it... it just all seemed confusing right from the very first episode.  I think I fell asleep after 20 minutes.  I guess I wasn't "ready yet"... (<--- inside joke for Lost Fans - hehe).

I'm proud to say that after one month of late nights, heavy snacking and frying my brain trying to figure things out, I (we) made it through 6 years (seasons) of LOST.  And yes, I am absolutely thrilled that I watched it in such a short time, because I don't think I would've kept my sanity having to wait 6 years for answers.... lol.  So right now, I am on LOST overdrive.  I was going to leave a lil cute post on facebook about my thoughts, but that post became too long and I didn't want to scare any of my friends.  So I decided to share my thoughts here with you.  And freak you out instead.  LOL.

I absolutely LOVED the chemistry between Sun & Jin.  It felt real.
It WAS real.  I still can't believe she cheated on him, but I am happy he was able to get over it.  It was sad and at the same time sweet, how they died.  Reminded me of Titanic.

I didn't care much for Claire or Charlie.
I get they needed a preggerz to show the whole "preg women die here" theory, but I just didn't like who they cast as those characters.
They were just goofy and not at all great actors.
Especially Claire in the end when she went nuts.

Sayid & Shannon were also a couple that didn't look right together.  Not because of their ethnicities, but I just didn't feel a "real" connection between them.  They were just actors playing a role.  I did, however, love Sayid's character.  Torturing people and all.  Even when he turned "evil" or "heartless" I enjoyed his role and I'm glad he made it to the end of the show.

Okay, now as for this group, I have a lot of thoughts.  I loved that there was always a push and pull between Sawyer, Kate and Jack.  I like that they both had an interest in her, but when it came to sexual tension and chemistry, I thought S&K beat out J&K.  With that being said, I still thought J&K made a great couple.  It seems once their issues were settled, they looked happy and were able to be good together.  Juliet, however, did not make a great match with Sawyer.  It felt scripted (which it was), and not genuine.  They just needed a storyline.  Juliet was better with Jack.  I didn't care too much for Juliet.  She was a traitor that finally came to her senses.

I loved Hurley.  He was one of my favs.  He was funny and always brought humor to very bad situations.  But in season 6 all I kept thinking about was what they used to make his really frizzy curly hair so soft and tamed!?
I need some of that ish, yo!  Do you remember him season 1?  DUDE!  It was bad!  If you can find the answer to this question, I will forever love you.

Now Locke.  What was up with that guy?  He gave me agida.
I liked that he was brave.  He hunted.  He protected and played a major role in a lot of the storylines, but that little bit of power got to his head at some point in season 3.

I started to dislike him by season 4.  But I will say that they cast him perfectly, and I wholeheartedly believed that guy was Locke.

As for the rest of the characters, they will always remain with me in my thoughts...

Yes, even BEN!

He was so freaky and evil and sweet and intense and crazy.  I loved it.  And those EYES!!!  lol.  Did ya'll know he was in the first SAW movie?  I knew I knew him from somewhere, although I don't remember him in the movie.  I just know cuz I googled his name and saw it was there where he looked familiar.  Now I gotta watch SAW again.

I'll miss Ben and his eyeballs, Sawyer's hair-flipping and nick-names, Hurley calling everyone "Dude", and Ben with his "Party of 5" look-away stare / head-shake move that he still does, but I am excited that I finally finished it and got my answers.  I'm happy to get back to living a normal life again (as opposed to staying up til 2am trying to guess what was going to happen).  However, I am also upset that my husband convinced me they were all dead the entire time on that island; which is probably why I didn't allow myself to connect with them more.  And if you watched the show and still don't know the answers, read this, it helped me understand at what point they did.

Because [[SPOILER ALERT]] they ALL DIED!

But whatever your feelings are about the show, here's mine...

It was a Long Overblown Survivor Tragedy, that I'm going to miss.

Mickey Party!

I Thought it would be nice to share with my blog followers, how we celebrated Giovanni's 3rd birthday.

We gave him a few options of party theme ideas and he chose to go with Mickey.  This both made me happy and sad.  Sad because I would've liked to do something different.  Happy because I would be able to recycle of the things I used for his 1st birthday party and also think of new stuff to make.

I planned this party in a matter of 1 week and made everything craft related in a matter of 3 days.  It didn't feel rushed, but once the party was over it felt like it didn't last very long.

I converted last year's Yo Gabba Gabba party cups into Mickey,
with just one punch & some glue.  hehe.

Mini empanadas, Congri (Cuban rice), Lechon (pork w sauteed onions),
Maduros (sweet plantains), homemade Potato Salad (with apples).

A video on how I made this Mickey Mouse faux gumball machine
is now live on my YOUTUBE channel.

You can watch it here.

I also created these adorable party favors using some IKEA jars.
You can purchase them from my shop, either pre-made or just the kits with personalized tags.
Click here for pre-made/shipped to you Mickey Candy Jars.

These labels were originally created to go with the Mickey Oreo Pops,
which I also made for his 1st birthday.
But this time around I wanted it to be quick & easy.  So I just made reg chocolate pops,
and recycled the labels to add to the front of the pops.
You can use them either way.
These are also available in my shop.

Here we are in mom's bathroom, taking a silly pic.
The flash doesn't allow you to see my head, but there's another photo of me below,

I was feeling festive, so I TRIED to design my nails in a way to resemble Mickey & Minnie,
They came out messy because I was in a rush.
It was a last minute idea.

Giovanni got tired of waiting for us to cut the cake; we were busy taking pix.
So he decided to grab a spoon and help himself.

Thanks for checking in and thanks for all the birthday wishes.

Remember Today.

I first heard about Creative Scrappers on facebook over the summer, and then subsequently on Instagram.  I had been meaning to try their layout challenges, but have not given myself time.

Today, after hubby came home from work, I treated myself to a few hours of just "FUN" scrapping, as opposed to "Must Finish This" crafting.  I loved making this layout and I think it has sparked an interest in 12x12 scrapbooking again.

The collection I used is by Echo Park "A Boy's Life".  A pretty old collection, but perfect for what I wanted to create.  I added lots of wood veneers, punched pieces and enamel dots.  The black chevron/arrows were too dark, so I used a white gel pen to add a little dimension and contrast.  The layout is simple, but very busy at the same time.

I'm excited for next month's challenge and I encourage you to join us.  Dust off your hoarded collections and start cutting into them.  You won't regret it!

I promise!
