The 5th challenge to the Some Odd Girl May Community Facebook Crop prompted us to think of H2o.  I immediately knew which image I wanted to use, and was happy to find that there was a 30% off coupon on digital stamps happening yesterday.  I took advantage and purchased "Water Fun".

I wanted to use the Echo Park "Sweet Day" 6x6 paper pad, so I kept the image itself very simple.  Only adding a background.  However, I did use a new style of clouds (which I am growing to love because they help my scene appear in the forefront, while everything else appears in the background)... and I also included this cool Some Odd Girl "Branch" digital stamp to give it a backyard feel.

I added diecuts (made with my silhouette machine), black twine, enamel dots and matted a tiny sticker strip by Cosmo C.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you are enjoying some H2o fun as well!

Over the weekend I was able to get some crafting done, including completing all of the challenges for the Some Odd Girl Facebook Community Group and it has been very fun for me.

Today I'm sharing the 4th challenge entry, which was to use a Critter and add a 3D technique to it.

I decided to use "Spring Pup" because she's so cute and has a pretty butterfly friend that I knew I can added many colors to, to match the Amy Tangerine "Yes Please" 6x6 paper pad.  I used a Lawn Fawn "Hello" die and MFT stitched speech bubbles die to create the top portion of this very CAS card.  I placed the white hello on very thinly cut dimensionals to add to the 3D effect, and I also added dimensionals to the puppy.  Then finished off the card with matching enamel dots.

I don't always make CAS card, but when I do, I wonder why I don't make more of them.  They are just so pretty!

You're Too Fintastic!

I'm sharing a 3rd Some Odd Girl challenge entry for their Facebook Community Group and I absolutely LOVED making this card.

The challenge was to create a grid pattern, to alter something using any technique, and to create a sentiment using 2 different fonts.

As you know I adore creating backgrounds and scenes, so I thought it would be fun to use a Donna Salazar "Bubble Wrap" stamp to portray a grid-style water effect.  I embossed it with white Jo-Ann brand embossing powder and used Memento "Bahama Blue" ink to distress over the bubbles aka water.  For the sky I used fussy cut a grid-cloud pattern by hand and used Memento "Summer Sky" to add a bright sky.  I then used the ray of sunshine from the "Sunny Mae" stamp set to create a hot blazing grid-sun from the top left corner of the background using Memento "Dandelion" ink.  I finished it off with come clouds from that same stamp set inked with Memento "Summer Sky" and added the gorgeous mermaid stamp from SOG's "Under The Sea Mae", which I colored with copics.

For the sentiment I used "You're Too Sweet" from MFT's "Lollypop Girl" and "Fintastic Friends" from SOG's "Under The Sea Mae".  I loved combining the 2 fonts and creating a new sentiment.  Great challenge!

I LOVED making this card and I can't wait to give it to someone who deserves it.

Thanks for joining me today and I hope you click on the links provided to get your very own set of these adorable stamps before they are all gone!

If I don't share another card tomorrow, I want to wish you a great weekend!
We've been sick here all week and I'm just about dying to get in that pool!

Shine On.

The second challenge hosted by the Some Odd Girl Facebook Community is to create a summer background using watercolors or mists.

First I heat embossed Reeves watercolor paper using an Inkadinkado script background, versamark ink and clear embossing powder.  I then used watercolors and brushes to create a summer scene.  If you look closely you can see the embossed script.  I added MME "The Sweetest Thing - Lavender" 6x6 pattern paper to the card base.  I used "Thank You Mae" stamp and colored her with copic markers, and finished it off with a phrase from "Sunny Mae", and Memento Rich Cocoa ink.

I created a very clean & simple postcard looking polaroid, and was done in less than an hour.

Join me again for the 3rd SOG challenge post; coming soon!

Fun In The Sun.

I haven't made a SOG card in a while.  I think since my Christmas series, so I was excited to find a challenge going on in their Facebook Community Group.

I decided to enter a couple and here is my first.

We were prompted to use a summer stamp and create a summer card.

So I used "Sunny Mae", and build a very summery card using MME's "In Bloom" 6x6 paper pad, diecuts, distress inks, Wild Orchid Crafts flowers and some netting.

I really enjoyed creating this card and I hope you are inspired to pull out your summer dresses and let your hair down.

Talk to you soon!

Family Fun.

There are days/weeks that I am too busy to stop and take some really nice photos, or to plan a photosesh at the beach.  Which is why I rely on my phone and tablet to help me document life.  They are not as clear as I'd like them to be, but they still capture memories.

And then there are days/weeks that there's not much to document.

Today I'm sharing a single page layout in my 6x8 project life album, of the time my nephew from Massachusetts came to visit.  It had been since our wedding in 2006 that we had not seen each other.  We went out to dinner on a Friday night, then hit the beach for a quick road trip and more conversation.  It was so wondering seeing the positive change in him.

We got our feet wet, climbed palm trees and hit up Sonics for some 1am shakes.
The next day we took a dip in the pool, went shopping, had a BBQ and visited downtown City Place (West Palm Beach, Fl), rode a real life Trolley, and had such a great time all day.

It was a great night, and I am so glad that I had the perfect embellishments from the Come On Get Crafty shop to help me pretty up this page.

Don't be afraid to get messy with your pages.
They are YOUR pages and YOUR memories and YOUR story.
Tell it as funny, or serious, or detailed as you want.

Because in a few years we'll look back and smile as we relive those documented moments.

Be blessed.

Pamper Yourself.

And yet another blog post scheduled for today... are you tired of me yet???  hehe

I had fun coloring this Stampin Bella image (link below).

She looks very relaxed and ready to enjoy her spa day.  I wanted to use colors that were soft and calming.  I loved making the bottom of her seat out of wood and paper piecing her towel wraps.  She even has a fruity pink drink!

All the items I used are listed below, including links.

Don't forget that Noelle is having a shop sale.
See the flyer below for expiration date and coupon code.

Have a great weekend!!

Here We Go.

Today on the Come On Get Crafty blog we're hosting a Sketch Challenge, with a chance to win a gift card to the shop.

Here is my take on it.

I used different pattern papers from companies like Basic Grey, Webster's Page, Glitz Design and Elle's Studio.  I embellished with Studio Calico veneers, Simple Stories SNAP clear stickers, Bella Blvd stickers, Amy Tangerine thickers, Crate Paper transparency and Elle's Studio phrase flags.

I hope you will join us for this month's sketch challenge and share your project on the blog.
Take care and remember to check out the shop for other awesome crafty goodies.

Have a great weekend and I hope your Memorial Day is hot enough to take a dip in the pool!
