Studio D. Snack Bar

Hi crafters.

I wanted to share the Snack Bar / Office part of my craft room for some time now, but before I took any photos it had to be complete.  What was missing was the cute sign, which you'll see once you keep reading.

I've seen this partiular DIY gumball machine project done a few different ways on Pinterest and have loved every style.

I wanted to create my own version of it so I made mine pink and added tons of pink ruffled trim and clear bling all over.  And instead of placing a wood circle loop in the front center, I added a Tim Holtz keyhole metal piece with more bling; makes it look like a real gumball machine!!

Incidentally, I did make a real-time video showing how I made this project, but after uploading to youtube it won't play because of the music I added.  So I will have to (soon) go back to that file and redo the entire editing of it.  Which I've completely avoided for weeks now!!  LOL.

My snack bar is just one shelf full of our favorite yummy goodies: Mini Chocolates, Gummy Bears, Swedish Fish, Lollipops, M&Ms, Tootsie Rolls, Gumballs and some other random candy.  Daizy (my puppy) even has a jar full of doggie treats!!  hehe.  I wanted it to be inviting and fun, so I added a cute little "Hello Kitty" inspired sign.  There was a $1 white frame that I've been meaning to alter and place on my snack bar, but haven't had time to until today.  Here's how I did it.

Printed Hello Kitty bows and a typed up sentiment.

Traced the circle that came with the frame over the sentiment.

Added a buckle (which I sell in my ETSY SHOP) and bling to the bow and frame.

I like the idea of having handy candy whenever I get hungry.  My kitchen is a floor above my craftroom and going to get a quick snack means having to exercise; and I can't be having that more than twice a day!  lol.

I hope you enjoyed today's blog post.  Something different from just showing you cards.  You get a look into more of my personal life and how obsessed I am with Hello Kitty & Paris.  **sigh**

Thanks for dropping by.
