Happy Monday!!
I have been meaning to share this card with you since last week, but for some reason I kept putting it off. Maybe because I was lazy.
This is a very busy birthday card that I created. The image is from The Greeting Farm and, as always, I stamped her just for practice purposes. Since I was in a Valentine mood all week I thought I'd make her into a Valentine card, but she ended up being something else. It's okay, because you can never have too many birthday cards.
The paper collection I used is from Echo Park "Happy Days" and it went perfect for the look I wanted to create. Something vintage yet updated. The flowers are from WOC and IAR, the bling is from Recollections and K&Co. The diecuts are from Spellbinders and the butterfly punches are from Martha Stewart.
I want you to pay close attention to the red strip of "fence" looking piece that stands behind the doll. What I wanted to create was a look of a, like a, like... I can't even describe it because I don't know what it's called... LOL. You've see those types of shudders or fences or gazebos. I have no clue what to call it. But I cut that paper in half and added that Fiskars border punch in between to separate too much of the patterned paper. I then ran a black & white striped ribbon by Doodlebug along the center slots of the border punch all the way down.
The sentiment is curled. And if you look behind the sentiment next to the butterflies, you might be able to see pieces of ephemera that I cut from the same piece of paper and included in the background for some fun interest.
Believe it or not, after all the die cuts were made and grounded, it was a very quick card to put together. I had fun making this and I hope whoever ends up being it's new owner will love & cherish it forever.

Yuor card is so adorable. Love the whachmacallit. LOL. You know what I mean. That is a really pretty idea to run ribbon between it.
The card reminds me of Twilight. I guess because of the colors.
Can't wait to see the shabby chic you say you have that you don't want to give up.
My only advice. Don't give up what is yours and you like or love. I have given up some nice layouts and minis and now regret it. Don't live with regret.
I am still working on the elf layout. I have 2 pages done and the other two will probably be done some time this week. I have my mom in the hospital again. On my way to see her.
