Our Everyday Life.

Here's another quick 12x12 page I made using a Dear Lizzy paper collection.  I also included touches of October Afternoon, My Mind's Eye, Freckled Fawn and Chic Tags.

The page was inspired by a sketch challenge over at Sketch-N-Scrap.

I had a lot of fun with this layout.  It almost felt like a smashbook page to me.

And speaking of that, I was able to get a clearanced out smashbook over the weekend so that I can document our summer being that I don't have access to any Project Life supplies as of now.  I hope to be sharing some of those pages with you soon.

Thanks for checking in, I always appreciate the lovely comments.

Photo Love.

I work on this layout last week (when my mojo and energy was at an all-time high), and wasn't too happy with the outcome, and I didn't think I'd be sharing it.

But after looking at it over, I realized that it's impossible to be "in love" with everything I create.

Using mostly October Afternoon diecut pieces, strips of paper by Dear Lizzy and a Freckled Fawn puffy, I created this layout based loosely on a Dusty Attic sketch.  I used a plastic grid-type "mask" that I found in the sewing department at JoAnn for less than a dollar, and Heidi Swapp sprays for the background and plenty of OA stickers as embellies.

The photos were taken outside at high noon, and I couldn't get the best lighting.  Sorry for that.

Now that I look at it again, it's kinda growing on me... hehe.

Have a great weekend!

Project Life - Week 10.

This is the last PL layout I was able to complete, before packing up my craftroom back in April.  I was already a few weeks behind and now that we're heading to July, I doubt I'll ever catch up.  I think I will either create a layout for each month (with as many photos as I can fit), or skip it and start again fresh when I am able to do so.

In any case, you won't be seeing anymore PL layouts from me for a while.  I will continue my 12x12 layouts... I've actually been enjoying those a lot.  I think I just might work on another tonight.

[right side]

I created a cute pocket on this 4x6 card,
in order to fit a photo and some journaling,
and use red double side tape to adhere.

I used supplies by Maggie Holmes, Heidi Swap, Fiskars, Amy Tangerine, October Afternoon, Recollections, Studio Calico, American Crafts and Silhouette diecuts.

I seem to gravitate to this color scheme; yellow, pink, mint green, with some accent colors...
It's the 3rd layout like it.

Boy Genius.

This $5 Old Navy shirt that I got Gio when he was still in diapers is my favorite shirt in his closet.  I love the bright orange color.  I love the sentiment and I love how it looks on him.

When I took this photo, I knew I'd be using it on a layout.  So I tried to take shots that looked "artistic".  I wasn't too successful because the background makes no sense, but I still love his pose, outfit and nerdy glasses.

I used an array of paper craft company collections to complete this layout including Pink Paislee, October Afternoon, Freckled Fawn, Studio Calico, The Twinery, Simple Stories, American Crafts and Recollections.

The background was made with a Heidi Swapp polka dot stencil, paintbrush and watercolor paint.  I sprayed the SC feathers and also painted on them.

Adding twine is messy and tricky.
If you want it to look random just put a glob of glue anywhere and swirl it up randomly.
If you want some sort of order to the "mess",
first apply the adhesive in the shape/form you like, and then add the twine along the glue-line.
(see photo below)

I wanted the word "GENIUS" for the title to be red,
but I didn't have them available for the letters I needed.
The next best thing was to paint over these
white American Crafts fabric-type alphas with watercolor paint.
It was pretty messy and messed up my layout a little...

I added touches of teal & red to the all black dotted "faux leopard" background,
for a little interesting pop.
(and to cover the minor mess that "GENIUS" made on my layout - lol)

I had so much fun creating this layout, using the Scrap365 sketch challenge, and I hope you will bust out some 12x12 paper and join me in getting back into the heart of scrapbooking.

This Happened...

...last week when I went on a little craft binge.  Hit up 3-5 spots on 5 different days...
The Goal: to purchase items I need to keep my craft hobby going, without buying the same items I already own, but don't have access to.
It was pretty difficult, cuz I kinda have a ton of stuff....
But I succeeded, with the exception of a paper trimmer.

Today I want to share a layout I made using the Amy Tangerine "PLUS ONE" collection I've been kinda hoarding. I printed out some photos at Walmart in B&W knowing I'd use it with this paper.  I also added touches of Heidi Swapp, Simple Stories, October Afternoon and Bella Blvd.

The "enamel dots" you see throughout are really dabs of fabric paint.  I purchased a pack of 6 neon bottles for $3.97 at JoAnn, hoping to make my own enamel dots... It might be that I used a waxy paper plate as my base, but it didn't work.  The dots stuck to the surface, and pulling them off was torture.  Needless to say, there's a really pretty plate somewhere in a trash dump now.  lol

I'm loving making 12x12 layouts again.  It's the only type of crafting I'm able to do without unpacking my entire craftroom....  lol.

Swim Fan.

I guess I'm on a roll with these layouts lately.  I'm completely loving making them.  These are the photos I used to SMASH or Project Life, but those supplies are still in boxes.

This layout was completed on Wednesday after church.  I was inspired by the photo of Gio swimming and the Pink Paislee "Hey Kid" collection that I snatched up at Michaels earlier that day.

I used touches of Chic Tags, Amy Tangerine, Simple Stories, October Afternoon, MME and Teresa Collins.

I stole this layout idea from an old Creative Scrappers January challenge.  I loved it so much, and I've seen it used so many times in different ways, that I just had to try it out myself.  It was very easy and fun.

Thanks for stopping by and stay tuned for more project shares.
