Party!!!

Happy Saturday!!

I'm happy to share a SNSC DT card with you today.

I will admit that I've had this card done for a month now, and I was scheduled to share it May 1st, but got delayed with other things and was not able to create a blog or do a video.  So I apologize to everyone who was expecting this sooner.

Balloon Sophie is probably one of my top 3 favorite Sweet Nothings Stamp Company stamps so far.  There are more to come, so don't forget to check back to the website for new releases.  A few new stamps just came out on May 1, so you might want to check that out.

Using Authentique "Journey" paper, a fiskars banner punch, some WOC flowers and some Recollections bling, I was able to put together this quick card.  I say quick because it took less than an hour to do and that's a record for me... lol.

I love these colors and will possibly use them again.

I hope you enjoyed this card share, and will come back again during the week for more creative inspiration.

Bird Mini Album & Altered Birdcage

Hello my darlings.

I'm excited to share this project with you because it's something that I've been brewing since January when these gorgeous birdcages came to Michaels.  I immediately snatched one up and knew exactly what I'd use it for.  I wanted to make mom a bird mini album and put it inside the birdcage.

I bought the mini album (4 chipboard shapes) for $1.50 at Michaels earlier in the year and finally took it out last week to work on it.  Believe it or not it only took me 2 days to complete everything from start to finish.

I used Pink Paislee's Spring Jubilee paper pad, Wild Orchid Crafts flowers, KarlaS001 crystal wheat leaves, acrylic flowers from my stash, metallic butterflies that I sell in my Etsy shop, feathers, Rosette trim that I received in a RAK from Sharon last year, a Michaels bronze miniature picture frame, rhinestone buckles (which I also sell in my Etsy), flat back pearls, Recollections bling on a roll, Chicken wire stencil, Walnut Stain distress ink, seam binding, Doily, Spanish moss and some sprays from Michaels.

I hope you enjoyed seeing this project.  If you would like more details, just watch the video below.

Thank you and have a wonderful Mother's Day!!

Happy Mother's Day [2]

Hi again Bloggers.

So, here is the 2nd Mother's Day card I made.

And this one is for my mommy!  =)

I started out by coloring this Gorjuss stamp to be able to match the My Mind's Eye "Follow Your Heart" collection.  I love that paper so much, that I think I need a 2nd pad.

Anyway, I didn't think I'd use it for a Mother's Day card, but it was just so darling.  I loved using the hexagon paper that came in the pad and cutting out a big chunk of it.  I am still in the process of buying some hexagon dies, punches, stamps WHATEVER I CAN FIND!!  I can't get over how much I love that shape!!

(click photos to enlarge)

Anyway, so I added some Twine from The Twinery "Cappuccino" some punched butterflies (Martha Stewart punch), some pearls by Recollections, a piece of rose trim from a RAK I received from Sharon (thanks girl, I am loving that TRIM!!  Please tell me where I can buy more of that color!!), and some rhinestone buckles that I sell in my Etsy shop.

I didn't have a design in mind, I just went with whatever started to look good basing it on the layout that was already on the page from the paper pad.  I added a polka dot background (to start) and then glued the page you see behind the Gorjuss stamp to the bottom right corner.  I really don't know why I did that, I guess to make it different.  Everything is always centered and perfect.  This one I wanted it to be a bit messy and unique.  =)

And I almost forgot.  I fussy cut the birdcage/banner edge of that top sheet (that got cut off from the edge of the card), and the tiny butterfly, and 1 hexagon shape and added them inside to decorate a little.  It was looking  plain.  I also made another gift card slot using left over scraps from the sheets I used.  FUN!!

That's all.  It was easy, fun and quick to make.  Hopefully you are inspired to make a messy card or layout this week.  It doesn't have to be perfect, or even match, it just has to be pleasing to YOUR eye.

Thanks for checking in.

Happy Mother's Day

Hello my gorgeous darlings!!  I am in such a great mood.  This week has been a fun week for me as far as playing with Gio, making new friends and being productive.  I was able to make 2 special Mother's Day card which I will be sharing with you all.

Today I want to share with you the one I made for my Mother In Law.  It's so funny because as I colored this "practice" image I didn't think I'd like how it turned out, I didn't think I'd do it well (first time coloring an elephant), and I didn't think it would end up on a Mother's Day card, but why not right?  And after I had my heart set on giving it to my MIL, I realized that I had made her a birthday card last year using these same colors... lol.  She's going to think I either love yellow or think that she loves yellow!

In any case, I think it turned out super cute and I'm excited to share with you the details.

The stamp is from Milton & Co., by Wild Rose Studio which I purchased online a few months ago and have not dared to try to color it til now.  The paper is from Teresa Collins, which I received in a RAK from a dear friend (Sharon), in February.  I love the color combo!!  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the bling is by Recollections.  And the sentiment is by Stampin' Up that came in a set called "Teeny Tiny Wishes".  Everything else is basically standard (punches, circle dies, glue, etc.).

I'm not sure if you can tell from the photo, but I did dry emboss the black center strip with the Cuttlebug Argyle folder that I recently got.  When I went in my embossing folder bin too look for something to emboss the black strip of paper, that was the 1st one I pulled out.  And being that I hadn't used it yet, made it more appetizing!!   =)

Oh, one more thing.  With the left over strip of paper, I created a slit pocket where a gift card can slip into and be secure.  I used the double sided tape that has the red lining (forgot the name right now)... lol.  I taped the sides and the lower part of the strip.  The black piece is just cardstock by Recollections.

I hope you enjoyed this blog share.  The plan was to inspire you to use "out of the ordinary" colors and images for your Mother's Day cards.  Don't you think they're tired of us using FLOWER images all the time??  lol.

Talk to you soon.

Celebrate!

Tomorrow is my mother's birthday and when she was in my house over the weekend she saw this image sitting in my pile of mess on my craft desk.. hehe.  She loved it!!  I figured I would color it in and use it for her birthday card.

I used Prima's Fairy Belle collection to create this card and paired it with Pink Paislee's Spring Jubilee (which you will also see later in the week, what I used it for).  I added some pearls over a 3 flower punch by Stampin' Up and the card was complete.  I love the soft pastel colors on this card and I know she will also

The wings on the fairy was colored with BG10 & BG11, but it seemed a bit too dark for wings.  So I added Martha Stewart glue and sprinkled some Doodlebug white glitter.

I tried to capture the photo clearly, but at this time of night it's impossible to do (it's Sunday night at 8pm right now - I pre-schedule all my blog entries... hehe).

Anyway, those are the simple details.  Most of the time was spent on coloring the image.  Which by the way is made by Tiddly Inks and is called Fairy Fae.

Stay tuned for more projects.

Thank you Cards

One of my mom's friends from Facebook had asked mom to ask me to make her 2 Thank You cards.  The challenge was to use those "dolls" that I color for cards (she really likes those) and to show a house and butterflies, etc.  Well, the only problem was that the only house stamps I had were very tiny from Stampin' Up.  I was not happy with using those, so instead I decided to create the ILLUSION that there was a house, although the cards never show it.  LOL.

The results, I thought, were so very cool!!

(click photos to enlarge)

The first card I made by embossing a cloud background stamp on some already colored paper by Authentique.  The effect was so cool!!  I added punched out Fiskars clouds, Wild Orchid Crafts flowers, some punched out grass by Fiskars and a white picket fence on the corner that "leads" to the house.  LOL.  Basically the girl sitting on the grass (and I'm sorry that I don't know the name of that stamp; it was given to me in a RAK by one of my crafty sisters DeNetra, and it came just as is..), in her backyard enjoying the view and her flowers.  =)

The second card is using the Cosmo Cricket "Clementine" paper pad, and layering pieces over each other.  The image is a digital stamp that I purchased on Etsy and is made by My Favorite Things.  I think I paid less than $2.00 for it and have a few in my stash.  It was the perfect stamp to use to create the ILLUSION that somewhere nearby there is a house, being that she's at the mailbox.  hehehe... I'm so sneaky!!  The red butterfly was given to me in a RAK by another scrappy sister of mine, Connie, and fit perfectly on the card.  I almost put a flower, but really I didn't want to make the card so bulky.

So those are my 2 cards.  I hope she likes them.  She wanted to give them to 2 people who helped her buy a house recently, so hopefully they enjoy the card as well.

Thanks for taking out time to check my blog.  I appreciate all comments.

Aloha!

Hi bloggers!!

I feel like I've abandoned you and you've forgotten about me... hehe.  I'm so sorry.  I have been just doing a lot of different things (like more Smashing), and going out more.  Kinda not so many cards.  But I do have some projects to share with you this week, so I'll be around more often.  So much, that you'll want me to take another break!  haha..

Anyhoo...  I've had this image colored for about a week or 2 now with the intention of making a card, but wasn't giving myself any time to do so.  Until a few days ago.  I love this image.  Make It Crafty makes this stamp and she's called Hula Girl.  Adorable.  I go through periods where all I buy is the same of one thing like, tons of images to color or tons of die cutting tools, or tons of inks or tons of paper pads, etc.  Well lately I've been in a "tons of smashing products" binge.  lol.  So Hula Girl is an older stamp (for me), but new to you.  And just as well, old stamps can be made new again.  Anyway.  She's sexy.  She's adorable and I can't wait to color her in again.  Maybe give her a darker tan next time.  =)

Thanks for checking in and I'll talk to you later.

Don't forget to stop by tomorrow for another project share.

Baby Smashbook

Hi guys.  It's been forever since I blog, huh?  I'm sorry.  I've been all caught up in my crafting.  In spending even more quality time with my family (extended also), and re-organizing my craft room.  It seems every few months I'm doing that.  LOL!

And one of the things that's kept me away from blogging is my rekindled love for smashing.  You all know that the concept for "smashing" was not invented last year by K&Co, but they did bring it back in a new, more fun format.  I love SMASHING!!  I haven't created many pages, but I sure have been buying tons of Smashable items (including the books).  My plan is to own every book and use it for a different subject or topic.... and I'm even considering getting 2 of each book!!  LOL.  I love this style of crafting so much.  It reminds me a little of Project Life, except I'm not forced to document every single thing.  If nothing happens that week, I don't have to take a photo of things and try to force "something" to smash.

Anyway, so today I thought I would share with you the first 3 pages of my Baby Smash book.  I knew I'd be using this book for Giovanni and I knew I wanted it to be fun and silly, so that's why I created the title page as so...

The 2nd page shows how messy he can be.

That Banner stamped card pulls out to reveal journaling behind it.

The 3rd page is my favorite so far.  The colors are bright and the layout is simply adorable!!

I hope you all enjoyed my smash share, and if you want to know more details you can watch the video below.

Thanks for stopping by and talk to you soon!!
