Santa's Blog Candy!!!

Hi Bloggers,

It's almost Christmas, and to celebrate I wanted to do something extra special for all my current and new blog followers.

Starting November 1, 2011 and for the entire month of November I will be sharing Christmas cards that I've made here on my blog.

On December 1st I will be drawing 2 random winners for some Santa's Blog Candy!!  We all love blog candy, don't we?

Two winners will be chosen at random.
I will chose 2 blogs out of the "30 Days of Christmas" blog posts, using where the blog candy will be found.  And from those blogs I will be choosing 2 other random numbers to determine the winners depending on how many comments were left in those specific blogs.  You never know where the blog candy is hidden, so make sure to check back every day for a new blog post.

The 1st winner will receive a $25 gift card to Michaels, assorted Wild Orchid Crafts flowers, a new Recollections Christmas cling stamp set and a "30 Days of Christmas" Christmas card of their liking.

The 2nd winner will receive a $15 gift card to Michaels, a new Recollections Christmas cling stamp set and a "30 Days of Christmas" Christmas card of their liking.

1. Be a blog follower.
2. Add the above "30 Days of Christmas" badge to your blog sidebar linking back to this blog.
3. Include your email address with each comment so that I'll have a way to get in touch with you if you win.

If the chosen winners did not meet these 3 requirements, new winners will be chosen.

Again, you must leave a comment on each "30 Days of Christmas" blog post because you never know where Santa's Blog Candy is hidden.

I hope you all join in on the fun and Merry Christmas!!

MFT Die-namics Storage Album

Hi my loves... it's almost Thursday and although Jersey Shore has ended, I'm still looking forward to tomorrow because it's 1 day closer to Friday, which is "pay day", which means I get to hit up Michael's for their amazing sale.  Have you heard?  Recollections items are on sale for 40% off.  If you use this coupon you will receive another 20% off on those sale items.  I love when they do this!!!  It's like Christmas morning!!  (well not really like Christmas, because if it were then the Recollections would be free and placed in a beautiful glittery box with gorgeous glittery fancy ribbon - looks like someone's into glitter lately!).. Anyway, so I thought I'd share that great tip with you before I show you my project.  And by the way, the sale ends Friday (10/28/11) so if you're reading this after, I'm sorry, but I'm sure there will be other sales.

Okay, on to my project.

A few months ago I purchased some Teresa Collins Tab Black Chipboard Album Pages from for a great deal and thought to use them to store my Spellbinders & Die-namics.  When I received it in the mail it was a lot smaller than expected (I never read the dimensions of anything).  So I put it away and recently took it out (while Skyping with a friend the other night) and decided to alter it and use it solely for the MFTSTAMPS die-namics dies.  You know, the ones that are metal, small and flat?  Well, using what I had in my stash (mainly black, pink and white - to match my future craft room) I redid the front and back covers and added a little Parisian Pizzazz.  I happen to love it!!  It's just so glam.  It's so beautiful (in person) that if anyone ever wanted to buy it from me I'd ask for a ridiculous amount of money just so they'd be forced to say "nevermind"... LOL.

As always, a list of products will be listed below, but if you have any other questions just leave me a comment.  Oh, and you will find that I am now using a watermark for my photos... that's because I have found a few of my photos lingering around the net (while doing a GOOGLE search for things) and am kinda thinking that people might be tempted to pass them off as their own.  So hubby made something quick for me tonight, but will be working on something better in the near future... I want it to be chic, fun and sassy (like me).. hehe.

Thanks for stoppin' by and don't forget to see this project in the following video.

Altered Wood Dress Form

Hello Lovers, it's been a while since I posted a project I know... but that's because I needed to purchase a new battery charger for my Sony Cybershot.  I felt cripple without the use of it.  The bad news is they took 2 weeks to ship it from CALIFORNIA to FLORIDA!!??  HELLO??  The good news is, they made a mistake and shipped me 2 of them... haha!!  So since it comes with a car charger attachment, I will leave one in the car for when I'm on the go.

Anyway, I say this to say that now I am able to take better photos of my projects (I've been using my blackberry) and record clearer videos (than what my FLIP can provide), so I'm ready to make stuff and share it.

There are a few projects I've worked on since I've been gone, but the first one I want to share is the $3 wooden dress form I purchased a few months back to be altered.  When I first bought it I had no idea what style I wanted to do, but after altering a few things I knew exactly how I wanted to showcase it.

I made this with a contest in mind for JadedStudios using a KarlaS001 Etsy shop item... the only thing I had of her shop were white mulberry flowers; thank goodness you only needed 1 etsy shop item for the contest entry... lol.  Hopefully I win!!  =)

The photos can almost tell the story how it was made, but if you have any questions, please leave them below.  And remember, once I hit 200 blog followers I will be doing a giveaway, so make sure to tell your crafty friends about my At Studio D blog.

DIY Mickey Mouse Chocolate Oreo Cookie Pops

Happy Monday!!!  It's a very dark, rainy & dreary day here in Florida, but I'm in such a good mood (despite the fact that I wasn't able to get much sleep since we slept over mom's house in order to get some laundry done at a laundry mat [my 1st time], in order to be close to Gio's 9am appt., in order to spend time with them AND in order to catch up on editing some videos).

Mom's computer is way newer and better than mine, so I took advantage, brought over all my photos & videos and have been working on it for a few hours.

I want to share an easy "sweet" project that involves very little money, time and effort and would make a great addition to your Mickey Theme'd party.

The photos pretty much share the "how-to" portion of this blog, but for more (exact) details just click on the following link to the video.  It will help you better understand the process.  It's super easy and so much fun!!

(click photos to enlarge)

I used the double-broiler method to melt the chocolate.  In the past I've used the microwave method and the chocolate becomes thick, clumpy and burnt.  I absolutely love this easier method and now am a fan of chocolate based crafts!!

Melt the chocolate 15 second intervals adding 1 spoon of Crisco for half a bag of Wilton Chocolate Melts.  This will make the texture of the chocolate extra creamy and easy to work with.

The products I used can be seen in this photo.
Mini Oreos.
Regular Oreos.
4" Lollipop sticks.
Wilton Candy Melts.

I found it easier & faster to make these pops
when I pre-assembled the ingredients.

Place your stick in the chocolate an inch deep.

Press the chocolate dipped  stock into the white cream center of the oreo.  Making a groove and turning the stick round and round to distribute the chocolate throughout.

Dip the small (split) oreos into the chocolate
and set on the larger oreo to form the Mickey ears.

Spread a nice amount of melted chocolate on the corresponding large oreo
and place over the bottom part (oreo, ears & stick).

Put them in the fridge for 5-10 minutes.

When you take them out,
have the melted chocolate ready to dip the entire cookie into
and set aside again for an other 10 minutes in the fridge.

Now they are ready to eat.  I highly recommend having these with a tall glass of nice cold mild, because they are super sweet and rich!!

With the idea to make these labels with the intentions of matching the invitations, my husband and I got together and created this beautiful label.  It takes 3-4 steps and the outcome is so cute!!

If you would like to purchase these personalized Mickey Mouse labels, please visit my Etsy shop.

I Actually Made 3 New Cards!!

Hi Blog-Gals, it's 3am here in Florida and I'm still up!!  Why?  Because I drank 2 cups of Starbucks coffee at Giovanni's other 1st birthday party [long story] and now I'm wired.  I have to be up at 8am for church, so I'm going to be DEAD!!

Anyway, as I chat with some gal pals in Tiny Chat, I began to resize photos (mostly Giovanni's 1st birthday party pix - so expect a Mickey related blog post this week!), and I stayed on all this time doing some MORE online shopping; as if I need to do any more of that, right?  LOL.

Okay, so enough ramble scramble... the reason for this blog is to share a few cards I made yesterday and today.  Two are similar and the other was supposed to be for an adult, but it turned out girly!  haha.  And, as always, a list of supplies for both type of cards is listed below.

I hope you are inspired, and please share your comments with me.

Hello Kitty Smash Book

In the following video you will see a smash book I started in 2005. It's very similar to what everyone is raving about this year, but it's my own take on it 6 years earlier... hehe.

I hope you enjoy it and have fun laughing along with me.

Chirp. Chirp.

Hi Ya'll.

I know I should be sharing photos of Giovanni's 1st birthday, but honestly, there are about 200+ photos that I have to go through, resize, upload and blog about.  It's going to have to be later in the month.  I did manage to get some posted on my facebook page, so if you're interested just look me up.

I did want to quickly share a project that I started the week of Gio's party.  I put it to the side because I received a mini album swap project and started on that.  When I received my WOC first purchase (which by the way I LOVE and made a 2nd purchase yesterday), I remembered the 1st project I started to work on because the colors of the WOC flowers were perfect for it.

On facebook a few weeks ago I showed a photo of some "new" birdhouses that Michael's was carrying.  They sell for $1.50 and an old JHS friend (that lives in Hawaii) made a comment about how she wished she had a Michael's near her.  I offered to buy her a few and ship it (because she's also very crafty), but she didn't think she'd have time since her baby is due in less than a month and she still had tons to get done.  So I offered to alter it for her and send it to her.  I had an idea of using the colors of her nursery (which were white, mint blue/green and very little pink), so off I went to redo the birdhouse.

Here are a few photos showing the baby's nursery...
It's a GIRL!!

As you can see, I tried to use the colors of the room/decor so that she is able to put it somewhere on a dresser or hang it from the ceiling...

(click photos to enlarge)

The "S" was a chipboard letter I found in a MAMBI box that I never opened and is about a year old.  I didn't like the color pink shade of the "S" so I layered some fun flock over it and added bling.... I think it turned out cute!!

I was happy to find a bird that I had purchased at the Dollar Tree in a 2pack which matched the "theme" perfectly.  I already showed it to her and she loves it... so do I... I hope you do too.

Thanks for stopping by and hopefully soon I will get the birthday blog set up.
